Wildcat Cliffs Country Club

1

Wildcat Cliffs is known as the friendliest club in the mountains. It provides an active lifestyle in an atmosphere of gracious living where friends and family are always welcome. With a world-renowned golf course with spectacular views, a 6,000 foot state-of-the art fitness centre, Har Tru tennis courts and even a fish pond, Wildcat Cliffs has something for everyone in the family.

Wildcat Cliffs Country Club is a family oriented, 18 hole golf and tennis club operated for the social and recreational benefit of its members. It is located off U.S. Highway #64 midway between Highlands and Cashiers adjacent to 5,000 foot high Whiteside Mountain (a National park) in Western North Carolina. The Club was chartered in 1961. The property which is located at the crest of the area's highest plateau, totals some 350 rolling acres at an elevation of 4,200 to 4,300 feet above sea level.

The 18 hole golf course was built to championship specifications. It was designed by golf course architect, George W. Cobb, who while pointing to Wildcat as the Highest Course East of the Rockies further noted that while most mountain courses enjoy two or three spectacular mountain views; Wildcat possesses more than a dozen! The course abounds in the natural beauty of native wildflowers, streams and lakes. Throughout the spring and summer the flame azalea, mountain laurel, rhododendron and mountain ash transform the course into a fairyland of beauty. The autumn foliage is breathtakingly gorgeous.
