Though he's lived in Highlands for only five years, Bert Mobley is, in ways, an old-timer in the Highlands/Cashiers area. A long-time visitor, he investigated all aspects of the real estate market (lots, land, and residential) before purchasing and moving in 2004. After a career in high school education at Marist School and Whitefield Academy in Atlanta and as an adjunct English professor and advisor at UGA in Athens, he relocated to Highlands as part-owner of the Highlands Wine and Cheese Shop before selling his part to enter the real estate field. A native of Waynesboro, Georgia,near Augusta,Bert understands the value of having a cool place to call home.
